I was able to speak to a friend yesterday and get a tiny edge in on "authority". I asked him if jesus when he ascended said he has been given ALL authority in heaven and on earth (Matt 28:19,20). He agreed.
I then asked him if Jesus ever gave this authority to someone else.
Silence.
a few years ago they had a similar talk and my mother stopped talking to my sister.

I had a family member that was in charge at Bethel of sifting through mail. "Briefly summarize" content and pass to the appropriate dept I believe was the direction. Some they had permission to toss.
I agree....its mostly overlooked (unless the first paragraph sounds legit). But don't let that deter you. I feel like its cathartic, and the sheer amount of letters increasing would definitely be noticed and communicated.

Besides that, i have found (fairly recently), that real genuine love and care, with STRENGTH behind it, rarely recieves confrontation. JWs seem to reapond to it like andnormal person would. I am glad you had a moment with your childrwn, and i hope it continues. Just stick with love. This is your blood. An opportunity will arise.......it just wont happen when YOU think it should......and thats ok.

so after almost a year of complete inactivity and non attendance, i ran into a nice brother from the local congregation.. after some nice chit-chat, he says "we really miss you and your family...etc...you were always the kind and supportive one, the approachable and encouraging one in the congregation.

The concept of overthinking is an interesting one. I think its just loaded language in JW world for, "dont think ypu know better than the slave".
Many people, many good people, stay JWs because they purposely decide to ignore the thibs they do not agree with, and feel its "closest", to the truth......whatever that means.

If you died faithful with a beard, you get to keep your beard. But.....if the system that was just destroyed might rhink ypur beard makes ypu a dirty hippy, you must fashion for yourself a shave club, and take the hair from your face.
